This privacy policy applies to the Periodly period and cycle tracking application ("Application") for mobile devices, created by the Service Provider. The Application is provided "AS IS".
Information Collection and Use
The Application is designed to be privacy-first. Your cycle data and logs are stored locally on your device. The Service Provider does not operate a cloud sync for your logged cycle data in the current version.
The Application may store the following information on your device:
- Cycle dates and cycle history
- Daily logs you choose to enter (e.g., flow, discharge, symptoms, mood, pain, sleep, energy, notes)
- Profile details you provide during setup (e.g., tracking goal, birth year, average cycle and period length)
- App settings and preferences (e.g., language, reminders, water and pill reminder settings)
This information is written to an on-device database (SQLite) and an on-device key-value store. It is not transmitted to the Service Provider or to any third party.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, the Application schedules notifications locally on your device. No push notification token is created and no notification is sent from a server. You can grant or revoke notification permission at any time from your device settings.
Third Party Access
The Service Provider does not sell your personal data. The Application does not transmit your logged cycle data to third-party analytics services, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
Purchases and Subscriptions
The Application offers an optional paid subscription ("Pro"). If you choose to subscribe, the purchase itself is processed by Apple's App Store, subject to Apple's own privacy policy.
Subscription status is managed with the help of RevenueCat, Inc., a subscription infrastructure provider located in the United States. In this context RevenueCat may receive:
- Purchase and receipt information, and whether your subscription is active
- Device and store metadata inherent to the purchase (such as platform, app version and country)
- An anonymous identifier generated by RevenueCat itself
RevenueCat does not receive any cycle, symptom, mood or other health data, because that data never leaves your device. If you never open the subscription screen, no purchase data exists to share.
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all data usage by uninstalling the Application from your device. You can decline the subscription at any time and continue using the Application's free features.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is stored on your device until you delete it. You can delete all locally stored app data at any time from Settings (Clear All Data), which permanently removes cycles, daily logs, profile details and preferences from that device.
Because the data is stored only on your device, uninstalling the Application also removes it.
Your Rights
Menstrual and cycle information is treated as health data, a special category of personal data under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and under Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK). The Application is built so that this data is processed only on your own device.
In practice this means your data protection rights are exercised directly on the device:
- Access: all of your data is visible in the Application at any time
- Rectification: any logged day, cycle or profile detail can be edited in the Application
- Erasure: Settings (Clear All Data) permanently deletes everything
- Objection and withdrawal of consent: reminders and the subscription are optional and can be turned off at any time
For purchase data held by RevenueCat or Apple, you may contact the Service Provider using the details below and your request will be forwarded to the relevant provider.
Children
The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the Application, please contact the Service Provider.
Data Controller
The Service Provider is the data controller for the limited processing described above. Contact details are given in the Contact section below.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. You are advised to review this policy periodically for changes. The version shown inside the Application is kept in step with this page.
